There is literally nothing more satisfying than a quilt that comes together super quick! For this beauty, I dug out two gorgeous charm packs from V and Co – Simply Style and Simply Color. Once I had a rough idea of my rainbow, I added about a dozen of my own fabrics from my stash, surrounded it in a sea of white, and DONE! I’m a tad obsessed by rainbows at present, and think they are the perfect colour combination to brighten anyone’s … Continue Reading »
This month’s #aussieaurifilclub is made up of the three primary colours and its +one – a fabulous rainbow variegated thread! Everyone needs basic primary colours and who doesn’t love a rainbow? PERFECT! Bundles have been shipped today, and these sets will be available in the store HERE.
He’s finished! And has had to make do with photographs hanging on the back fence of my neighbours house. Hereby framed by an electrical post and paperbark tree – and of course, a hills hoist clothesline behind the fence! But he’s beautiful…. I always find it hard to choose a favourite quilt, but this one is a major contender from here on in. I was lucky enough to acquaint myself with the gorgeous Carolyn from Free Bird Quilting Designs, and with a very … Continue Reading »
A few months ago, I listed a bunch of my quilts for sale on my personal Facebook page. I honestly did not think anyone would buy them, but wanted to give friends and family first option before I put them out to the public! Much to my surprise, I sold a few! Two of them found a new home together, for two gorgeous little sisters. But there was just one problem – they have a brother! But I had no boyish quilts….. So … Continue Reading »
Last month, I put together a thread set For The Boys. This month, it’s all about Pretty In Pink! I definitely had “for the girls” in mind, but I know my son is a little partial to pink, so couldn’t be biased 😉 Reminds me of fairy floss! Four perfectly gorgeous hues, bundled together for you! These will be shipped out to club subscribers mid-August, and will be available in store soon after. As always, subscriptions can be easily signed up for HERE.
I have a confession to make – last month, I decided it was time for another charm swap, but I was incredibly time and effort poor, so I didn’t advertise it widely. In fact, I only threw it open to members of my charm swap FB group. Sometimes, you just gotta do what you gotta do – and this was the easiest and most time efficient way for me to go. So – with that – I’ll apologise to those of you … Continue Reading »
If you’ve been following me over on Instagram, you would know I started a pixel quilt at the beginning of May. I’ve mentioned before, the impact Prince and his music has had on me, so two weeks after his passing, I’d been in touch with Andi from YouPatch, and threw a couple of my favourite Prince photos her way. A VERY short time later, she’d drawn up a pattern for me, and I ordered my fabrics immediately! Over the past six weeks, I’ve … Continue Reading »
To be perfectly honest, I don’t even know who I am anymore?? It seems that since I’ve taken the pressure off myself to produce work for the masses, inspiration has returned along with my sewjo! So much so, I have another finish to show you… Last week, friends of ours announced the arrival of their first child – a baby boy, Blake. I still get excited about the births of babies, and after the new Mummy – Sarah – had commented that she … Continue Reading »
The best thing – actually, possibly the only thing – about having a bunch of WIPs in your sewing room, is when you need a quilt to gift, and don’t have heaps of time to start from scratch. A couple of weeks ago, I pulled my Koi Crossing top out of my pile and gave it basting treatment. It then sat on the back of the lounge for a couple weeks longer, before I quilted and bound it last week! This was one … Continue Reading »
When you deliver two quilts to a friend/customer and tell her you bought some gorgeous “boy” kind of fabrics in Tassie, and she says “Oh good! I have a new nephew as of last night!”, you promptly get to work on requested baby quilt. I had already put thought in to the kind of design I wanted to use these specific fabrics in, so I got to work straight away! I started with the measurements I found for a “Plus quilt” HERE, then worked … Continue Reading »
