Sunday Stash & Dash

It’s a Sunday “quickie” today!  I had a delivery from Hawthorne Threads a couple of weeks ago, which was a joint order between a few Aussie Charm Swappers and myself!  You’ll see a bit of a theme here….. Yard cuts of a variety of Bari J prints!  These have all now been sliced and diced ready to add to the Bari J #aussiecharmswap. And whilst I was ordering, I made the most of the joint order!  I grabbed that grey and white print … Continue Reading »

Cushion Cover Marathon 2016

Cushions, by far, are the quickest and easiest gift for that someone special, and each year, I tend to make thousands of them!  Ok, maybe 20?  There’s a special tag for these posts here on my blog – cushion cover marathon – so here are the first two cushions for 2016!  This first one was a special order from a dear friend of mine.  Living in Japan, her eldest son is finishing at Kindergarten/Day Care, and has had the same wonderful teacher for … Continue Reading »

Molli is busy this weekend, so you have me to guide you through your Sunday Stash! A Hawks Quilt – Aussie Hero Quilts

Most of the time, I keep a to-do list.  2015’s to-do lists quite often had “Aussie Hero Quilt” scrawled in to a week I thought I’d have time.  Unfortunately, I never found that time, and as I rolled in to 2016, I wanted to make this a priority. I’m super happy to say I managed to do so, and a couple of weeks ago I emailed JM at Aussie Hero Quilts, and asked her to send me the request list.  As I looked … Continue Reading »

Sunday Stash – Re-Stocking

It’s not often I order from overseas anymore, given the dire state of our dollar and also the ummmmmmm, dire state of my sewing room….. BUT…… when I saw Pink Castle Fabrics had a 30% off sale, I took advantage of it!  I had the order open on my computer for a few days, ensuring I was CERTAIN of the choices I’d made, and then pressed GO!  It arrived last week, and I was very excited….. I re-stocked my Cotton + Steel stash, … Continue Reading »

Farmer’s Wife 1930’s Sew Along – Month Four!

I’m a little late on finishing my fourth month’s blocks!  So here’s a quick review of my eight blocks…. Joy – I love everything about this block….. The mustard, the floral and the ten pin bowling print! Mrs Brown – This is probably the softest palette amongst my blocks so far, but I adore it! Mrs Morgan – Packs a punch!  Love love love the bright flowers amongst the purple and green (should never be seen??  Who made that rule?!?!?!). Grandmother – Eeeek, … Continue Reading »

Here are the details: 1) FIRST IN, BEST … Continue Reading »

Tula Pink Charm-Along – WINNERS!

WOW!  That’s basically all I can say!  I’m so impressed by ALL of the projects our charm-alongers have made with their Tula Pink goodies!  Each and every one of them is so totally different and unique, and it makes me want to start a million new quilts! I managed to finally finish my quilt top yesterday, I had big plans to have it quilted and totally complete, alas, time was against me.  It also doesn’t help that this big beauty is WAY larger … Continue Reading »
