DIY Block Design by Alyce Blyth

One of my very best quilty friends – Alyce – has published her own book!  And even better than that headline, is that it’s a DIY Quilt Block Design book!  Alyce teaches you in the book, about the mathematics of quilt block design, which will help you to design your very own quilts! So on top of being really excited for her, I was even more excited when she asked if I would like to share my own block designing tips!  The excitement … Continue Reading »

The Bob-a-Long

Unless you’ve been sleeping under a rock, I’m guessing you have seen Quilt Jane’s new pattern doing the rounds? I know it grabbed my attention immediately!  So when Angie from Gnome Angel asked if I’d like to join in a blog hop for the Bob Bag pattern, I was on board! I was so on board, I didn’t even read the pattern before agreeing!  And once I started the project, I also didn’t read ahead on the pattern, so had no idea what … Continue Reading »

Stuff & Nonsense

As I contemplate heading down to my poor neglected sewing machine, I thought I’d quickly show you a couple of projects I finished a few weeks ago!  Some of you may have noticed I haven’t actually been doing much sewing lately?  Hence why my sewing machine is probably feeling unloved.  But I’ve done something bizarre to my right shoulder and arm, which has left me somewhat struggling with a lot of everyday tasks.  I’m now heading in to five weeks of pain and … Continue Reading »

A Lesson With Jen Kingwell

Yesterday heralded the beginning of what may end up being a new chapter in my quilting life.  About a month ago, my lovely friend Angie told me she would be coming to Melbourne and that she thought she would go and do a class with Jen Kingwell down at Amitie Textiles.  I promptly invited myself and booked in too.  I then purchased my Steam Punk pattern and templates and contemplated what on earth I was going to get Jen to teach me, because … Continue Reading »

AMH Charm-Along & Charm Dash Blog Hop!

Today is the day we kick off the Anna Maria Horner Charm-Along & Charm Dash Blog Hop!  I know that’s a mouthful, but if you say it a few times, you will forget how tricky it is with all the excitement! Since releasing my first pattern late last year, I’ve sold over 30 copies!  Which may not seem like a lot, but for a first-timer, I am still pretty chuffed some of you have had enough faith in me to spend your hard-earned … Continue Reading »

Hazel My Hedgehog

When Angie from Gnome Angel asked if I would be interested in joining her Hazel the Hedgehog QAL, I took about one nanosecond to answer – a resounding YES PLEASE!  I bought the pattern from Oh Fransson! last year, but just never had the inclination to get it made!  So this was the perfect time to do it…… I chose the divine Tula Pink’s “Moonshine” range, which has an amazing colour palette.  I divided the range up, and went with the reds, oranges and … Continue Reading »

Going Plum Crazy

One thing I have found throughout this quilting world of ours, is how very giving quilty friends can be!  My lovely friend Laura from Quokka Quilts released her very own pattern last week – PLUM CRAZY – and on the same day, shared the news of my pattern release!  Now how nice is that? So in the spirit of friendship, I’m sharing right back!  Laura’s quilt pattern is a great fat quarter buster and if you check out some of her pattern testers … Continue Reading »
