Pavement Puddles Take Two

A couple of years ago, I had my first magazine quilt finish – Pavement Puddles. It was featured on the cover of the first ever Make Modern Magazine, and I was thrilled!  Since then, you guys have purchased the pattern yourself, but it’s taken me this long to get another version made myself! I actually finished the quilt top this time last year, but just never got around the finishing it – until today!  Isn’t it beautiful?  It is so very different from … Continue Reading »

Leftovers – Sewing For Sale

What do you do when you have time off work and a WIP list a mile long??  You start something new yes?  Several something’s new??  Mmhmmmm……  To make this story sound better, I will say that the following THREE new projects stemmed from leftovers of projects gone….. Firstly, I found the leftovers from blocks of a quilt that is yet to be finished.  In fact, it was supposed to be a Christmas present last year.  I’m hoping to get that done for this … Continue Reading »

Flowering Snowball in Blue

Back in May of this year, I did a bit of fabric shopping whilst tripping through Tasmania.  On said fabric shopping, I found the most glorious bundle of blue prints at Patchwork Plus.  The collection  is called “Alchemy” by Camelot Fabrics.  That little bundle has been patiently awaiting my attention, and thankfully I packed it when I went up for a day with my Modern Makers friends.  I whipped that bundle through the fabulous Go! cutter, and was then fully prepared to make … Continue Reading »

Pocket Full Of Rainbow

There is literally nothing more satisfying than a quilt that comes together super quick!  For this beauty, I dug out two gorgeous charm packs from V and Co – Simply Style and Simply Color.  Once I had a rough idea of my rainbow, I added about a dozen of my own fabrics from my stash, surrounded it in a sea of white, and DONE! I’m a tad obsessed by rainbows at present, and think they are the perfect colour combination to brighten anyone’s … Continue Reading »

Prince – The Purple Reign Finale

He’s finished! And has had to make do with photographs hanging on the back fence of my neighbours house.  Hereby framed by an electrical post and paperbark tree – and of course, a hills hoist clothesline behind the fence!  But he’s beautiful…. I always find it hard to choose a favourite quilt, but this one is a major contender from here on in.  I was lucky enough to acquaint myself with the gorgeous Carolyn from Free Bird Quilting Designs, and with a very … Continue Reading »

(Not) Just Another Boy Quilt

A few months ago, I listed a bunch of my quilts for sale on my personal Facebook page.  I honestly did not think anyone would buy them, but wanted to give friends and family first option before I put them out to the public!  Much to my surprise, I sold a few!  Two of them found a new home together, for two gorgeous little sisters.  But there was just one problem – they have a brother!  But I had no boyish quilts….. So … Continue Reading »

Purple Reign – The Quilt Top

If you’ve been following me over on Instagram, you would know I started a pixel quilt at the beginning of May.  I’ve mentioned before, the impact Prince and his music has had on me, so two weeks after his passing, I’d been in touch with Andi from YouPatch, and threw a couple of my favourite Prince photos her way.  A VERY short time later, she’d drawn up a pattern for me, and I ordered my fabrics immediately!  Over the past six weeks, I’ve … Continue Reading »

Oh Baby Baby

To be perfectly honest, I don’t even know who I am anymore??  It seems that since I’ve taken the pressure off myself to produce work for the masses, inspiration has returned along with my sewjo!  So much so, I have another finish to show you… Last week, friends of ours announced the arrival of their first child – a baby boy, Blake.  I still get excited about the births of babies, and after the new Mummy – Sarah – had commented that she … Continue Reading »

Koi Crossing

The best thing – actually, possibly the only thing – about having a bunch of WIPs in your sewing room, is when you need a quilt to gift, and don’t have heaps of time to start from scratch.  A couple of weeks ago, I pulled my Koi Crossing top out of my pile and gave it basting treatment.  It then sat on the back of the lounge for a couple weeks longer, before I quilted and bound it last week! This was one … Continue Reading »

The Fast & Furious Baby Quilt

When you deliver two quilts to a friend/customer and tell her you bought some gorgeous “boy” kind of fabrics in Tassie, and she says “Oh good!  I have a new nephew as of last night!”, you promptly get to work on requested baby quilt.  I had already put thought in to the kind of design I wanted to  use these specific fabrics in, so I got to work straight away! I started with the measurements I found for a “Plus quilt” HERE, then worked … Continue Reading »
