Charm Dash Blog Hop – Progress Report

We are now well and truly past the half way mark for the AMH Charm-Along & Charm Dash Blog Hop!  I hope you have been visiting all the fabulous bloggers who are participating, and have marked the dates for the ones still yet to come!  I have been LOVING seeing all the different versions of the Charm Dash pattern, and it just goes to show that a fairly simple block in theory, can be made in to a variety of styles and designs!

For my latest Charm Dash, I chose a charm pack which has been sitting on my shelf for what seems like an eternity!  “Reunion” by Sweetwater is a stunning collection of colours and patterns, and I knew that eventually I would find the perfect setting to use them in.  I was right…….

I decided to pair the prints with the most gorgeous of royal blues, and it makes them all pop!  I chose to make nine blocks with a 2.5″ border in the same solid.  It brought the size to 42″ x 42″, which is the perfect size for a baby’s quilt.

What I love about the Charm Dash is how you can see so many different shapes within the repeat patterns.  There are crosses, snowballs, star-jumps right there!

I chose my ever faithful Ikea Numbers for the backing, and it’s perfection.

charmdash4

Given my dodgy shoulder predicament, I went with simple straight line quilting, using a co-ordinating royal blue Aurifil thread #2745.  Can you see the divine little bunting there on the binding?

I had grandiose plans of making and finishing THREE Charm Dash quilts for this blog hop – but the shoulder said no…… This darling little quilt is up for sale in my Etsy Store, with free shipping in Australia.  So hopefully someone loves it as much as I do and it can be loved and cherished.

Now – A progress report….. Here are some of the stunning quilts we’ve seen so far…..
