Sunday Stash – Tokyo Part One

It has been two weeks since I returned from my trip of a lifetime to Tokyo.  I had many a plan to blog about my trip earlier than this, however, it took me a week to actually recover from my holiday!!  It was literally exhausting – but incredibly exhilarating!  The one question everyone asks me when I tell them I went by myself on a holiday to Tokyo is “Why?”  Well, I am lucky enough to have a handful of amazing friends I … Continue Reading »

Sunday Stash – The “I’ve been to Tokyo and bought lots of fabric but am so stuffed I can’t show it all to you” edition!

I’m home.  Crawled in to my own bed at 3.30am this morning.  Had a few hours sleep and then have powered on through today – handing out gifts to the kids and husband, sorting all my washing out and then heading to the shops for a SANDWICH!!!! Tokyo was amazing.  Totally and utterly mind blowing.  I promise I will come back when I am more awake and able to type eloquently.  In the meantime, I leave you with this….. Approximately 14 kilos of … Continue Reading »

It’s A Wrap – Kate Spain Aussie Charm Swap!

My “little” idea to put together a “little” charm swap here in Australia got off the ground and sort of turned in to something BIG!  Thanks to the generosity of the lovely Michele from Quilts From My Crayon Box, who kindly shared all her charm swap tips and information with me – I was able to run the swap relatively smoothly!  All up, there were 48 of us involved (with 8 lucky people taking 2 spots each).  112 different Kate Spain fabrics were … Continue Reading »

Fresh Sewing Day – August Round Up!

I think this is only the third time I’ve done a monthly round up, and I must say – it’s really great to do!  I look back at all I’ve sewn and try to work out how on earth I did it????  But – I did!  August – Oh what a month….. I had both of these quilt tops finished end of July, but received my SWOON back from the quilter and finished quilting and binding the CIRCA!  I’m still in love with … Continue Reading »

Fresh Sewing Day – July Round Up!

It would be fair to say that I’ve had a pretty big month!  In fact, it’s the biggest July I have EVER had in my life!  Apart from all the interesting side stories happening, I managed to sew up an absolute storm hurricane.  It truly is amazing how much you can get done when you put your mind to it AND desperately use sewing as therapy!  Here’s a little old round up for you…… Clockwise from top left: My first Fat Quarter Shop … Continue Reading »

Things To Do List – The Christmas Edition

I was at work today with a great chick, and we were both lamenting over the fact that we had no idea what we would be serving Christmas Day.  She hadn’t started her Christmas shopping and we were wondering how on earth we would pull it all together?  And just to drain me even further, my Zen keeps getting misplaced stolen.  So, here is my to do list….. 1. Finish sewing the gifts that are half done on my sewing table. 2. Bake … Continue Reading »

Tired T.G.I.F.F.

This week hosted by Quokka Quilts! So this is going to be a rather rushed and badly photographed post!  Basically because we not long got home from another version of TGIFF (Thank God it’s finished Christmas Concert – TGIFCC).  Here’s what I’ve been up to this week, amongst other things.  Lots of “firsts”. I bought this pattern for an ipad sleeve from Pattern Patti.  Super duper easy, but I changed it up a little by using some gorgeous Flora scraps and doing a … Continue Reading »
